392pp, rebound in full morocco with Cosway style miniature, raised bands, spine in six panels, title in gilt to second panel, author to fourth, date to foot, all panels framed with gilt double fillet, covers with gilt double fillet border, upper cover with inset Cosway style miniature of a young Churchill, surrounded by a gilt laurel leaf crown, gilt roll to edges and inner dentelles, a.e.g., with Cockerell style marbled endpapers. Spine very slightly faded, internally some light foxing, but generally clean, small nick to head of pages at L8 and M1. Now housed in a cloth slipcase. Woods A37(a)
