A collection of twenty-two, (nineteen by Ponting, three by Bowers), gelatin silver prints, (approximately 255mm x 200mm in size), taken during Captain Scott's Expedition to the South Pole, all with Paul Popper Photographic Agency's printed label and stamp to reverse, twenty are additionally captioned in ink to white border, two captioned on image. Now all mounted in a hinged white mount and titled to foot of that mount in gilt, housed in a cloth drop back box by Temple Bookbinders, with a reproduction of one of the pictures, (The 'Terra Nova' at the Ice Foot) to the upper cover. Popper acquired the rights to Ponting and Bowers' iconic photographs of Scott's Expedition in 1935. Each image has the label to the reverse confirming that these prints are 'made direct from the original negative'. Ponting's images are - 'Adelle Penguins at Cape Royds'; 'Capt. Scott'; 'The Deck of the Terra Nova'; 'Capt. Scott's Last Birthday Dinner'; 'Dr Wilson'; 'Dog Team Resting by an Iceberg'; 'The Terra Nova at the Ice Foot'; 'Lieut. Bowers'; 'Capt. Oakes'; 'Petty Officer Evans'; The Ramparts of Mt. Rebus'; 'The Terra Nova Icebound'; 'The Freezing of the Sea'; 'Seals Basking on Pancake Ice'; 'The Tenements'; 'Drifting Iceberg off Cape Royds'; 'The Castle Berg'; 'Capt. Scott Writing His Diary' and 'A Grotto in an Iceberg'; Bowers' images are 'The Polar Party on the Trail'; 'The Five at the South Pole' and 'Amundsen's Tent at the South Pole'
