Three volumes - The English Dance of Death (Volume One), 1815, vii, [1], 295pp, [5]; The English Dance of Death (Volume Two), 1816, [2], 299pp, [5] and The English Dance of Life, 1817, ii, ii, 285pp, [3]. All in original boards, corners and edges rubbed, the Dance of Death volumes split to spine, but holding well, some repairs to covers and joints, but with original printed labels. Internally some light browning and offsetting, the Dance of Life has an old ink inscription to ffep. With two aquatint frontispieces, two title pages and ninety-six plates by Rowlandson. Now housed in a folding cloth chemise inside a morocco backed slipcase, with raised bands and gilt panel backs. The Dance of Death is described by Tooley as being 'one of the essential pivots of any colour plate library'.
