[2], 214pp, [17]. Contemporary dark mottled calf, raised bands, spine in six panels, blind double fillet border to covers with blind roll to spine edge, edges sprinkled red. Old scrape to upper cover, with smaller scrape to lower cover, slightly rubbed to extremities. Internally the title and folding plate are lightly browned, otherwise bright and clean, with several manuscript corrections to text and several cancels. Engraved portrait frontispiece (by White after Kneller), title in red and black, folding table. Pepys' "only acknowledged publication. Upon this he lavished a great deal of thought and care" (Pforzheimer). From the library of Richard Ollard, the Pepys biographer (though no evidence of this). Pforzheimer 793, Wing P1450, NMM 5: 691
