[4], 406pp, [2]. Publisher's quarter morocco and vellum over boards, bound by W. H. Smith with their initials to lower turn in, raised bands, spine in six panels, title and author lettered directly to first panel, publisher and date to foot
Spine very slightly faded, internally some off setting from leather turn ins on to endpapers, otherwise quite bright and clean
Housed in a lined, leather entry slipcase. One of one hundred and eighty paper copies (with another twelve on vellum), "printed in double column on Batchelor paper of a larger size than any hitherto used, bearing the Knight in Armour water-mark. The shoulder-notes and the verses at the head of each Canto are printed in red and the large initials, designed by Graily Hewitt, in red and blue alternately" (Hornby, A Descriptive Bibliography of the Books Printed at The Ashendene Press MDCCCCV-MCMXXXV, pages 78-79)
