Two volumes - The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes (published 1892), [4], 317pp, [1] and The Memoirs of Sherlock Holmes (published 1894), [6], 279pp, [1]. Original cloth, title in gilt to spine and upper cover, a.e.g. Both volumes have been recased, rubbed to extremities, especially corners, edgeworn to foot. Internally the 'Adventures' is lightly foxed and has a previous owners gift inscription to half-title, 'Memoirs' is foxed throughout and the inner joints are cracked, but holding firm. Both items are the first edition, first impressions. Green and Gibson A10a and A14a, Sadleir 739 and 746 and Wolff 1898 and 1909 respectively
