Twenty parts in nineteen (1855-57), original wrappers. Spine ends chipped, some spines chipped, upper cover of part one chipped to edges with closed tear, upper cover of part nineteen / twenty with a closed tear, spine chipped with small amount of loss to lower cover, part seventeen's upper cover is soiled, in part fourteen pages 441/2 have some loss to bottom margin (not affecting text), part nine has a closed small tear to foot of last text leaf, the first page of adverts in part nineteen / twenty has a small tear (without loss). Internally some light browning and occasional light soiling, but generally the text is fairly clean. Plates have the usual browning / oxidisation to edges. Collates to Hatton and Cleaver with the following exceptions; part two lacks all ads to rear, part five lacks ad (2) to rear, part nine lacks pages 1-6 to front and all ads to rear, part ten lacks pages 1-6 to front ads, part twelve lacks ads (1) and (3) to rear, part thirteen lacks one slip to front and (3) to rear, in part sixteen the Jongh's ad is 2pp not 4pp. Hatton and Cleaver 307-330
