Large closed tear across the front panel and spine with very minor chipping to edges. Title to spine, title to head of upper cover, with author and publisher to foot, in between is a triangle with rounded points and curved edges, inside which is pasted a colour illustration of rabbits.
Covers very slightly faded, very minor rubbing. Internally quite bright and clean.

Now housed in a velvet lined, cloth drop back box, made by Temple Bookbinders, with title to spine, title and author to upper cover, with the illustration from the front cover of the book replicated on the upper cover of the box.
The first three impressions all have 1909 on the title page, the illustration on page 14 does not have the notice board, indicating a third impression (see Linder page 428).
